With the weather being so bad since Christmas, our under 10s team have simply not had the ability or the space to be able to practise or gain any tactical knowledge of the game.

To this end, Mrs Russell and I decide to use this tournament to give the squad as much experience of playing the game as possible selecting 9 players to be able to swap in and out in different positions. Our lack of training was evident as the girls struggled to find each other in the opening game and looked a little lost against far more experienced opponents. This was the theme for the day and, although we didn’t win a game, the girls became far more aware of what was needed to be able to compete and gradually grew into the tournament becoming more competitive and stronger throughout the day. It was an invaluable opportunity for the girls and will have helped their development.

Star players: Amelia and Mahi who fought for every ball and made some good decisions when in possession.
