Our annual Poetry Slam was once again a wonderful whole school celebration, with classes performing their chosen poems 'off by heart' with super expression, rhythm, clarity and confidence!

This year's theme was 'Around the World' with poems representing the UK, Antarctica, Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan, Australia, America, Peru, India and even one about travelling around our whole world!   This is always a hotly contested event and our judges, Mrs Badham (from the office) and Mrs Lynch (Librarian), found it extremely difficult to choose. However, this year's winners were as follows:

Early Years Joint Winners: Nursery for 'Spring' by Clare Bevan and Kindergarten for 'Two Hungry Penguins' by Clive Blake

Lower School Winner: 1S for 'Giraffes' by Mary Ann Hoberman

Middle School Winner: 3M for 'I'd Like to Sing in Singapore' by Kenn Nesbitt

Upper School Winner: 5F for 'Quipu Chant' by John Agard

Winning classes have received treats and certificates. Video performances of the poems will soon be available on the school website for you to enjoy. Congratulations to everyone!
