Cricket is always strong at Ruckleigh and this year was no exception.

Our Under 11s smashed all before them in the group stages of this tournament with Ibraheem proving dangerous  with the ball taking a particularly brilliant hat trick against Lichfield Grammar School and Areev equally as devastating with the bat plundering boundary after boundary. The whole team effort was great and we went into the semi finals full of confidence. It was a tight low scoring game against Crackley Hall which went down to the last over with Ruckleigh needing 6 to win. However the opposition bowler proved too strong and we could not score off him and actually lost a couple of wickets in the process. And so went our hopes of winning the trophy and the heat of the day and the disappointment of losing the semi final meant our performance in the 3rd/4th place play off was well below standard and we lost eventually finishing 4th out of 12 teams.

Some of the cricket we played through the day was absolutely outstanding and it was a shame to fall at the last hurdle but every one of the boys could hold their head up high as they all played with determination and no shortage of flair!
