Eversfield v Ruckleigh Hardball Cricket

On a spectacularly hot afternoon, the first XI cricket team took on a very equally matched Eversfield team.
It was a very tight affair, but Fuaad and Areev shone with the bat always making good decisions and hitting some glorious shots! After our 15 overs we were 48 runs to the good. Our bowling was superbly accurate only giving away 1 wide in all 15 overs. Again Fuaad was the pick, steaming into the wicket with pace and an incredible control of line and length. We had a couple of slips in the field leaking runs where we shouldn’t have ( this was eventually to be our undoing). Ruckleigh were in the lead right up to the last 3 overs, but the mistakes in the field reared their ugly heads again and we eventually lost a very close match. Everyone played well in very hot and sticky conditions.
