We were delighted to welcome Andy from Severn Trent to our school for an exciting and educational visit all about water!

The day began with a whole-school assembly where Andy introduced us to the Wonderful World of Water. Through a captivating presentation, he explored the water cycle and explained the fascinating journey that water takes—from rainfall to our taps and back again. The children were fully engaged and inspired by the incredible journey our water makes every day.

Following the assembly, Year 4 took part in a fantastic workshop called Water Street. This interactive session focused on how we can all play a part in conserving water. The children learned about practical ways to reduce water waste in our homes and communities while deepening their understanding of Severn Trent’s role in managing this vital resource.

The workshop included a hands-on activity where the children worked in groups to investigate water usage in different households. Each group analysed how much water their assigned "family" used and determined whether they were water savers or water wasters. The session concluded with a friendly competition to see which group could measure water usage most accurately.

Year 4 thoroughly enjoyed the experience and came away with valuable knowledge about water conservation and sustainability. A big thank you to Andy and Severn Trent for delivering such a fun, informative, and inspiring day!
