On Monday 6th October, Mrs Groen and Mrs Harrison travelled to Princethorpe College along with Zaky, Ethan, Jude and Srihith to compete in a Maths competition.

After a welcome from College Headmaster, Grove du Toit, 74 pairs of students from 44 local schools took on a series of puzzles against the clock. In five eight-minute rounds they tackled Tangrams, the 24 Game, Shape Arithmetic, Number Detectives and Matchstick Puzzles. The competition required both reasoning skills and mathematical knowledge. Our team were very well prepared having completed a number of similar challenges in school with Mrs Groen at lunchtime (we worked hard on our tangram skills!). Although we were not placed in the top three schools, we thoroughly enjoyed our morning out and everyone enjoyed the level of challenge. Well done to all of the children that took part and to those that completed the puzzles at lunchtime with Mrs Groen.
