Year 3 Visit to Lunt Roman Fort June 2024

Year 3 enjoyed a visit to Lunt Fort, the archeological site of a Roman fort, excavated and partially reconstructed in the village of Baginton.  We met Gaius, the Roman centurion, learnt about armour and weapons, and practised marching whilst shouting 'Sin Dex! Sin Dex!' (short for 'Left, Right! ' in Latin).   The children's favourite part of the day was participating in a Battle Drill in the arena - including training with swords and shields, and using formations to defend themselves from attackers!
