To finish our Mr Men and Little Miss topic the children went to Waterstones to purchase their own Mr Men or Little Miss book. It allowed the children to have hands on practice with money as they had to work out the combination of coins they needed from their purses to be able to correctly pay for their book. It was very interesting to see which book each child choose, often choosing a Mr Men character that was very similar to their own or had similar interests. A volunteer from the Book Trust charity met us at Waterstones and read us some of her favourite Mr Men stories and the children sat and listened extremely well.
