Nursery Phonics Workshops
Wednesday, 4 October 2017
Nursery parents were invited into school for an interactive Phonics session with their children to experience how we learn Phonics. They began with a Jolly Phonics lesson from their children with songs and actions; they felt that they needed a little more practice! The parents then had the opportunity to explore a variety of different activities focused on developing the children's gross and fine motor skills, phonics knowledge and listening skills. These included sand, salt, shaving foam, play dough, sound pots, threading, cutting, mark making and musical instruments. The shaving foam being a favourite of the children and parents alike! The children loved having their parents to share their experiences with and we hope that the parents have got lots of ideas to use at home!
