This week we have been learning about Mr Bump and been thinking of ways to keep him safe. We decided to make Mr Bump a coat that would protect him when he bumped into things. We predicted and then tested our ideas by wrapping up a grape in our chosen material, going out onto the playground and 'bumping' our Mr Bump grapes onto the floor. Afterwards we opened our coats to see how successful they had been. Some Mr Bump grapes came through OK but unfortunately some got squished! Some of the results were not as expected and soft material wasn't always the best. Lots of fun was had but also the scientific investigation, language, prediction and work on materials was brilliant.
