Middle and Upper School Sports Day
Friday, 24 June 2016
A quite superb Olympic themed Sports Day was enjoyed by the children and parents on Friday 24th June (we even had a guest appearance from Mr K Watson!) The field was transformed into an Olympic track and field arena with children competing in 7 different events, representing 6 different countries. Also incorporated into the day were the Oak v Ash relay races and the traditional Oak v Ash Tug of War event. The whole event was a sporting triumph as over 100 children ran, threw and jumped in their events simultaneously. The field was a true spectacle to behold. The medal ceremonies continued to promote individual successes throughout the afternoon as each gold, silver and bronze winner collected points for their country and ultimately for their House. China ran out as Olympic winners on the day and as the totals for each country were added it was Oak who were Sports Day winners again ( I do believe that's a four year winning streak for Oak). Thank you again to all the members of staff who made it possible for this event to run so smoothly.
