Mad Science
Friday, 16 March 2018
The focus of Science Week 2018 was 'Exploration and Discovery'. On Friday 16th March, Geranium Georgia, from Mad Science, came into school and the children from Year 1 to Year 6 took part in various workshops. Activities included imagining what it would be like on board a space shuttle, choosing a suitable planet to crash land onto based on the characteristics of the planet, fixing a broken satelite wearing space gloves, ordering the planets and talking about the 'Golilock's Zone'. This is the habitable part of our Solar System where conditions are ‘just right’ to support life—not too hot, not too cold. The children not only had a lot of fun, but learned many facts about space. A fitting end to Science Week!
