On Monday, our U10s football team took to the field at Dixie Grammar School in the first tournament of the season. They started like a house on fire demolishing all before them with commanding performances, playing tremendous football, scoring goal after goal. We qualified out of our group as winners which meant that we were in the top group playing for the medals in the afternoon. The afternoon session was much harder as we were playing all the winners from each group. All the teams were tired and the pace slowed dramatically. This did not suit our game at all and we looked a little sluggish. We struggled to get our high pressing, quick passing game going and we went down 3-1 and 2-1 in our last 2 games eventually finishing 3rd. This was still a great achievement and I was immensely proud of the style of football the boys played.
