On Wednesday, nineteen of our athletes travelled to Leicester to compete in the ISA Junior Midland Athletics Championships. With Year 6 at PGL, it was down to just Year 4 and 5 to represent Ruckleigh in various track and field events. Our sprinters started off the day exceptionally with Morayo, Neil and Leonard progressing to the finals. Leonard then put in an outstanding performance in the final and finished in third, bringing home a bronze medal for his 70m sprint. Other notable performances on the field included Zak and Hector competing in the long jump and Areev and Kian in the cricket ball throw - all finishing in the top 8 out of the 27 schools and therefore scoring points for Ruckleigh. The day came to a close on a high as the Year 5 boys relay team made it to the final and ended the day with a very close, fourth place finish.
