Fun on the Farm for Nursery
Thursday, 21 April 2016
Nursery's topic for this week has been Farm Animals and on Thursday 21st April we created our very own Ruckleigh Farmyard, complete with straw, a cardboard tractor, farm shop and scarecrow.
The children worked very hard throughout the week learning about different farm animals, what they eat and the names of their babies. The children were very excited on Thursday morning helping to paint and construct the tractor and farm animals.
After pulling on their wellies the children were able to explore our farmyard, plant seeds and sell lovely local produce in the farm shop. They even looked after our resident mother hen Mrs Lee, changing her straw and making sure the foxes didn't eat her!
Finally the children used the straw to make a Ruckleigh scarecrow, which looks rather like a child at a distance! In the afternoon the children made farmyard biscuits and enjoyed a biscuit and drink in the sunshine for a well deserved rest. Overall a fantastic day!
