Celebrating William Shakespeare on World Book Day

On World Book Day we celebrated the life, times and works of William Shakespeare. 'Strawberry Words Theatre Company' led drama workshops based on ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. Everyone from Year 1 to Year 6 dressed up as Shakespearean characters.

Each year group had a different cross-curricular activity to bring Shakespeare to life in the classroom including making lavender bags and wooden spoon puppets; creating Shakespearean insults and designing family crests. Year 2 even learnt some Tudor dances! We had a wonderful day and learnt so much!
