Celebrating the Chinese New Year 2018

We enjoyed a very entertaining Assembly yesterday all about the Chinese New Year.  Traditionally, in China, zodiac animals were used to date the years. In order, the twelve animals are: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig.  Each year is associated with a zodiac animal and 2018 is the year of the Dog. Characteristics of the dog (the Fire dog in particular) are ‘Intelligent, hardworking, and sincere’.                                                                                                           And today Mrs Jesson and the catering staff treated us to a very delicious Chinese meal.
