Both classes have had fun this term tasting, designing, making and evaluating biscuits. The children found out the meaning of the word ‘biscuit’ and thought about the many occasions we munched on them throughout our lives. During the tasting session, children were able to comment on taste, appearance, texture, size, and the shape of different biscuits and awarded each one with a mark out of 10. From this, children then had to decide how they were going to adapt a basic biscuit recipe and produce a biscuit type that would be popular in the shops for similar aged children. After making biscuits, time was spent evaluating the final results and suggesting what improvements could be made.
