Year Three had a splendidly scientific time at The Botanical Gardens. The children donned lab coats and goggles for a series of plant-related experiments including extracting DNA from squashed strawberries and investigating colour pigments. On our Fairtrade challenge, we discovered plants that are enjoyed by many of us every day, like tea, cocoa, sugar cane and bananas growing in the Tropical House.  Then the children had the opportunity to handle a variety of unusual creatures like Rambo the bearded dragon and Toffee the corn snake.  Thank you Mrs Brown for organising a fun and informative day and thanks also to our wonderful parent volunteers!
