Year Three had a splendid scientific time at The Botanical Gardens. The children donned lab coats and goggles for a series of plant-related experiments including extracting DNA from squished strawberries and investigating colour pigments in leaves. Plants many of us enjoy everyday in our homes like tea, cocoa, sugar cane and bananas were discovered growing in the Tropical House on our Fairtrade Challenge.  Then the children had the opportunity to handle a variety of unusual creatures like Rambo the bearded dragon and Toffee the corn snake.  Thank you Mrs Brown for organising a fun and informative day and thanks also to our wonderful parent volunteers!
