On Monday 10th October, four of our mathematicians from year five: Ethan, Zayan, Reyaan and Sulaiman attended a Maths Challenge at Princethorpe College with Douglas Buchanan. There were nineteen local primary schools in attendance and the young mathematicians completed six mathematical tasks in 8 minute sessions. Our team from Ruckleigh felt well prepared after completing similar challenges at sessions held with Mrs Groen during lunchtime so the broken calculators, cycling routes and make 24 challenges were all familiar. Our team found tangrams quite tricky but despite this, Ethan and Zayan came joint third! Well done to all of the children that took part and to those that completed the puzzles with Mrs Groen, keep up the good work.
