This week, year five and six completed the Primary Maths Challenge. The PMC is not designed to be just another test in the school year. it encourages enthusiasm, boosts confidence in mathematics and shows the different ways questions can be asked. The children enjoy the challenge and discussing answers together in class produces some great discussion about methods used whilst helping to develop reasoning skills. Bronze, silver and gold certificates were awarded to the following children:

Gold: Arjan

Silver: Aidan, Rohan, Roman, Maira

Bronze: Veer, Malak, Thomas, Sarthak, Divert, Sameer, Arthus

After the November results are collated and moderated, high scoring pupils are invited to take part in the Bonus Round. Whereas the November Challenge is an in-school challenge, the Bonus Round sees pupils competing on a worldwide level. We look forward to hearing which Ruckleigh pupils will take part in the  Bonus Round early next year, well done to everyone that took part!
