Our young team consisting of 4 Year 6s and 2 Year 4s took to the field on Wednesday for a tournament we have never won. The day started positively with a convincing 40 run win over Crackley Hall followed by a run chase of 38 against Old Vicarage which the boys knocked off in 4 overs. And so, to win the group and qualify for the final the boys had to beat a strong Tettenhall College team… which they did by 20 runs. And so to the final against Priory School. Priory batted first and scored and impressive 59 runs off 5 overs with our star bowler in the final, Kian, taking 2 wickets. So 60 to win was required. Shubham and Sarthak had been impressive and imposing all day and set about the task from the start. With boundaries flowing and runs being quickly taken, we were down to the last over. With 4 required to win, the batsman took only 2 balls to score those runs. And so for the first time, the trophy was ours! To put the icing on the cake, Diveet won bowler of the day with 4 wickets in 4 overs for 47 runs! A brilliant day was had and the boys returned triumphant and exhausted!
