Despite the wretched weather, 4D had a great adventure at the Parkridge Centre. They were taught how to build a fire using kindling, cotton wool, petroleum jelly and a match.  Jess and John, the group leaders, were superb.  The children built their own small fire then gathered more kindling to build one larger fire.  Once there was a good flame they toasted bread, which they ate, and Jess boiled some water so that the children could have a small cup of hot chocolate.

A very enjoyable morning.
