African Call & Response & Writing Music to Accompany Poetry

This term Year 5 have been composing atmospheric music to accompany poetry. They have listened to examples of accompanied poetry and written a class composition. They then worked in small groups to create their own compositions. The video shows one of the completed compositions.
Year 6 have been listening to cyclic patterns in African drumming music and composed their own call and response cyclic compositions. The video shows a class arrangement adapting the South African song Maliswe into the call and response.
